Reports of fluke in Scotland hit their 2007 peak in November, but fell away steeply in December to a
level well below that of previous years - very different to the high levels seen in the rest of the UK. Invernesshire accounted for one third of Scotland’s cases.
Although no cases of PGE were reported this month, numbers can be expected to climb again in late winter/early
spring.
There was just one case of pneumonia reported, in Aberdeenshire, which is in line with previous years.
